Drizzle

Drizzlepink

My favorite skies are grey.

And contain rain.

Not everyone feels the the way I do about overcast days.

When clouds hold the weight of an ocean within them, sinking low, closer to me than usual, I feel more alive than on the most golden glowing day. The moment soft rain falls, I am filled with peace; my cheeks hurt from smiling.

Favorite color? You guessed it: grey or gray. No matter the way you spell it, I could wrap myself in it and be content.

When my friend Stephanie showed me a teaser photo of yarn color, she was creating many, many years ago, she did so with the caption, “I know you will love this new recipe I am playing around with…I am calling it Drizzle…”

I couldn’t wait to get a skein. And after the long journey from Pittsburg to Kaua’i, I welcomed the new yarn by balling it up and casting on that day.

It has since been reknit in more colors than Drizzle. And knit hundreds of times. I reformatted from the pattern from it’s first release, and now I am sharing it with you here.

Make it.
