My first Kodiak camping trip. It was joy and beauty, awe, wonder and cold. It gave me peace and stillness, energy and pause. I can’t wait to get back.
(All the images below share a bit more information as I journaled as we went!)
First time ever camping here in Kodiak! This is the face of a newbie who is overcome with the joy awaiting!
The little camper in this picture is actually quite a lot bigger, but from our kayak trip up river it almost disappears!
A new way to watch "falling stars..."
We aren't the only ones that like this spot...
The smaller tracks make me nervous...nothing worse than bugging a mama bear trying to keep her baby bears accounted for...
The cheerful colors of my gift knit match the happy colors of nature! (and let me tell you it was a brisk day!)
We wandered this shore delighted with all the things we saw, and also happy with things we didn't (no bumping in to bear this morning!).
Constant companion and adventure buddy who happens to rock some waders!
Many cattle along the shore which is such a peaceful sight to enjoy. Sasha however was considering the merits of crossing the river for a chase. She did eventually.
I tucked in for a bit when I was alone at the campsite. The sky was beautiful and the sun brilliant---and it was cold! But I happily knit round and round delighted by the simplicity of changing colors on a whim!
Waking up to this view was unbelievable, and going to bed at night seeing it made me realize I get so many gifts each day that I do not deserve.
The colors out the rain speckled window changed quickly, moment by moment more golden and glowing from just seconds before.
